AECOM’s Water Business Unit is actively seeking a creative and highly motivated entry-level Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment in the Greenwood Village, Colorado office. The successful candidate will provide surface water modeling and design support for stormwater control structures. The position will involve working on projects for local municipalities, federal agencies, and private clients to conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and civil design including complex modeling.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic surface water modeling with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
Evaluate and map data in ArcGIS
Prepare engineering related calculations and analyses, develop construction plans and specifications, and prepare visual aids
Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D, Microstation, and AutoCAD environments.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in water resources, hydraulic engineering, or other related field required
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Candidates MUST be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship
1 year of industry experience
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Microstation, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS)
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
Fundamental understanding of hydrology and hydraulics
Strong attention to detail.
Ownership and accountability for quality deliverables
Ability to communicate the technical aspects of projects to a wide audience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills
