Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) TechniciansJob ID2021-2703Job LocationsUS-CO-Greenwood VillageCategoryOtherTypeRegular Full-TimeOverviewMerrick is currently looking for a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)Technicians / Utility Locators to work in support of large-scale linearenergy infrastructure projects throughout the United States. As our SUETechnician, you will help perform subsurface utility location and should beable to effectively operate ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems andradio-frequency electromagnetic pipe and cable locators. The candidate shouldalso possess the desire to accept additional responsibilities and support avariety of projects in various capacities.Essential ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.Application of standard field and office related techniques in carrying out asequence of related tasksExercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminaryselections and adaptations of alternatives.Complete One-Call and utility research for assigned projects.Operate geophysical equipment including pipe and cable locators and groundpenetrating radar to identify and mark existing underground utilities.Prepare sketches and reports of utilities / features marked.Coordinate with and assists Project Manager and other staff with various tasksrelated to a variety of projects.Operate and maintains in good working order, a variety of geophysical andsurvey equipment.Assist staff with less experience to properly learn the operation and use ofequipment.Qualifications and RequirementsAutoCAD draftingMicrosoft Office applicationsWorking knowledge of ESRI platform is a plus, but is not requiredEducation and Experience RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of utility locating experience required; energyinfrastructure experience preferredProfessional licensure is preferredExperience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)Experience with radio detection equipmentKnowledge and proper use of all field equipment and office download softwareValid driver's license requiredWork EnvironmentRequired to travel 75-100% to field project sitesRequired to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such askeyboarding; machine operation; etc.) most of the work day;Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 poundsfrequently;Required to exert physical effort in navigating difficult terrain frequentlyAdditional InformationApply online only.
