The Gallegos Corporation Marble Fabrication Plant Engineer in Gypsum, Colorado
Position Summary:
Coordinates the overall operation of the Marble Shop, including the flow of both information and materials.
Essential Functions:
Assure a safe workplace with commitment to our zero-accident goal – daily enforcement and clean up as well as attendance of weekly safety meeting
Assure all company policies and protocols are followed in the Marble Shop
Champion all marble shop processes through evaluation, documentation, and implementation
Logically determine the highest use of all shop resources at all times and ensure the highest use of each resource is applied at all times
Ensure that marble slab inventory is accurate for both internal and retail purposes at all times through the use of Slab smith software.
Receive and verify completeness and accuracy of work orders and determine whether or not a work order is forwarded to the fabricators or returned to the Project Manager for completion.
Program digital equipment sequences and tool paths for digital fabrication equipment.
Create digital templates of work to be produced utilizing templating tools on jobsites while coordinating template information with installation crews.
Utilize the skills of the Tools & Equipment Manager to purchase tools and materials as necessary
Qualifications:
0-3 years’ experience working with granite, marble, sandstone, tile and other interior finish products in a fabrication setting
OSHA 10 hour training (preferred) or equivalent safety training
Must have knowledge and proficient use of a variety of computer software applications in MS Office suite and Adobe, AutoCAD a plus
Requirements:
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Basic understanding and use of the English language
Attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
Observes all safety procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses equipment and materials properly.
Solid industry knowledge of materials and fabrication methods and ability to work with and maintain many types of machinery and equipment
Excellent communication skills
Blueprint reading and layout capabilities
