Golder has a new opportunity for an entry level Civil Engineer to work in our Denver, CO office as part of a team on civil, geological and environmental engineering projects.

Responsibilitiesof the role will include:

  • Taking a personal and active approach to health,safety, security, and the environment;

  • Understanding and following all state, federal,and corporate health, safety, security, and environmental requirements asapplicable to the work area and tasks assigned;

  • Take direction from intermediate and seniorstaff members to achieve goals;

  • Contribute to projects with varying disciplines;

  • Be accountable for completion of tasks withconcerns for time and budget;

  • Possess a strong work ethic necessary forworking in the challenging environment of engineering consulting;

  • Plan and execute field exploration programsfocused on gathering data to support site investigation and designactivities. Work may involve soil boring and test pit logging; and wellinstallation, development, and sampling;

  • Perform and document construction observationand construction quality assurance testing for geosynthetics or earthworks onlarge civil or power projects;

  • Prepare interpretive reports to supportdevelopment of engineering design and construction documents;

  • Develop grading plans and designs in AutoCADCivil 3D;

  • Complete engineering calculations and models forassessments including: seepage and stability, pipe and drainage ditch design,hydrology and hydraulics plans, erosion, settling of solids, alternative coverdemonstrations, geochemistry, and statistics;

  • Assist with writingreports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with seniortechnical advice and review.

Thesuccessful candidate will have a background in:

  • Possess a B.S. Degree ina related field of engineering, specifically: civil, water resources,geological, geotechnical, or environmental engineering. Preference given forM.S. Degree or current enrollment in an M.S. program in the same field.

  • FE/EIT registration preferred

  • Willingness to workwithin various industries and market sectors.

  • Ability to communicateconstructively with contractors, owners, and Golder personnel is essential, asis the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills, organizational and time management skills, anddemonstrated leadership ability.

  • Flexibility to travelfor extended assignments and on short notice.

  • Strong work ethic -willing to do what is needed to get the job done.

  • Candidate should possessa working knowledge of computers and engineering software, includingproficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
