DescriptionWeston is seeking exceptional candidates seeking a rewarding careeropportunity supporting our rapidly growing munitions response business lineand related fields. As the Munitions Response Project Engineer or Scientistyou will serve as a technical lead supporting project managers on pursuing,planning, and delivering munitions response projects to our Federal,State, and commercial clientele. You will direct and mentor junior staff andcoordinate in-house and external resources to ensure program and projectobjectives are being achieved at a high level of safety, quality andefficiency. Weston seeks individuals who possess an independent ability toproblem solve and who can provide technically acceptable, cost-effectivesolutions for our customers.Additional duties related to this position include:Design and implement strategies to characterize or remediate sitescontaminated with munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), materialpotentially presenting an explosive hazard (MPPEH), munitionsconstituents (MC) and/or other contaminants of concern.Select various types of instrumentation and methods such as IncrementalSampling Methodology to access MC concentrations due to munitions use or atsmall arms ranges.Coordinate the results from digital geophysical mapping surveys, intrusiveinvestigations and MC sampling to achieve project objectives and reportingrequirements.Prepare planning documents such as a Uniform Federal Policy for QualityAssurance Project Plan (UFP-QAPP) and Accident Prevention Plans (APP)and Site Safety and Health Plans (SSHPs).Develop other RCRA and CERCLA related documents like RemedialInvestigations, Feasibility Studies, Proposed Plans, Decision Documentsand Remedial Designs, as an example.Serve as a mentor and provide technical guidance and expertise to practicearea professional staff.Lead and/or participate in proposal efforts.Conduct site visits or fieldwork as required.Provide presentations as part of the technical project planning process,restoration advisory board or other public meetings.Familiarity with Visual Sample Plan (VSP) and UXO EstimatorQualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science orclosely related field with 1 to 4 years experience.Recent and directly related munitions response project experience ispreferred.Documented experience working in CERCLA-related MMRP projects for the DoD fromSite Inspection to Remedial Action.HTRW experience is a plus.Must have strong communication skill (verbal and written); field workcapability; good organization ability; data analysis; compatibility withother workers; and demonstrated ability to carry out independent originalscienBased on level of experience, the salary for this position will range from$50,000 to $65,000Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Disabled
