Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Geochemist to join our Denver office and globally. The successful candidate will support hydrogeochemistry-related projects and proposal efforts for the mining industry.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Participate in a broad range of technical services in the field of aqueous geochemistry including impact assessments, baseline studies, feasibility studies, and water supply development throughout the world
Design and conduct field investigations and laboratory testing programs
Quantitatively evaluate field and laboratory data using a variety of analytical tools
Formulate conclusions and recommendations, and prepare reports and presentations
Work under the supervision of technical directors, with the opportunity to rapidly assume increased autonomy and responsibility
Prepare proposals in response to client needs
Manage projects according to client-approved scopes of work, and deliver high quality reports on time and within budget
Master’s Degree in Geochemistry (PhD preferred) with 10 years’ experience in consulting or equivalent
Strong conceptual and quantitative skills in the evaluation of hydrogeochemical systems
Experience with industry-standard geochemical modeling codes (GWB, PHREEQC)
Proven track record in environmental projects, with an emphasis in mining-related issues
Solid communication skills
Client management and business development skills
Ability to complete high quality work and written reports
Specific expertise in quantitative evaluation of acid-rock drainage related to metal mining preferred
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for hydrogeology and geochemistry, possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and be committed to producing technically excellent work in a client-driven environment
