Lockheed Martin Lead Drafter in Littleton, Colorado

Description: Selected candidate will work in a collaborative environment to develop and deliver the next generation of Special Tooling (ST), Special Test Equipment (STE), Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used to support spacecraft processing flow and eliminate high risk activities. The candidate will be required to support engineering staff with modeling and drafting support using Creo 2 and Creo 4 computer-aided design software. Candidate will be required to take concept models from engineering and develop detail 3D models and 2D engineering drawings for fabrication. Mentoring and leading the CAD team will be expected, tasks will include, but are not limited to, CAD training, team quality reviews, mentoring, team status, and task assignments.

Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from 3D CAD models, basic layouts, established references, notes and discussions with engineers, and standard data. Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) equipment. Completes layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices or may develop complete major layouts of engineering drawings. Within parameters determines scaling required; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

Desired Skills: - EPDM / Windchill document release experience

- Extensive mechanical manufacturing, test and integration experience

- Familiar with the development of Special Tooling / Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) used for the manufacture, integration, test, transport and handling of spacecraft and associated critical hardware.

- Familiar with the development of Special Test Equipment (STE) / Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) including packaging, rack elevations, schematics, interconnect diagrams, etc.


- Experience using Creo 2 / Creo 4 modeling and drafting software

- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical drafting standards

- Ability to assign tasks and drive product closure

- Ability to lead / mentor others

- Assist with process standardization / product development
