Lockheed Martin Materials Engineer in Littleton, Colorado
Description: Provides unsurpassed technical capability and expertise in the support of innovation and Mission Success at the Materials Technology Lab of Lockheed Martin Space Systems. Position requires candidate to coordinate and interface directly with customers and other team members to assist with the various stages of the product development cycle for aerospace materials, mechanisms, and structures. Must be a self-starter, strong knowledge in mechanical testing and aerospace material science, committed to continuous process improvement and have the ability to provide solutions to difficult engineering issues, either independently or in a team environment. This is a hands on position operating in a laboratory environment that supports the development of complex systems for use in human / robotic space exploration, navigation, communications, national security and other aerospace related systems.
Desired Skills: Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science with working knowledge of ASTM type testing, Labview, environmental testing (thermal and thermal vacuum), composite materials / structures, thin films / coatings, fracture mechanics, fatigue, manufacturing processes, etc. Established track record demonstrating the ability to manage multiple development programs simultaneously.
