The Lockheed Martin Space Pulsar development team is focused on evolving how Lockheed Martin Space does business. We’re consistently looking at ways to improve our collaboration, foster innovation and advance how we operate. The Pulsar development team delivers advanced visualization projects leveraging capabilities like Extended Reality and the Pulsar Center; an advanced, configurable visualization center for the immersive display of digital concepts, scenarios, modeling, simulation, and war gaming. The team holds creativity and innovation as core principles in everything we do.

A successful candidate will be flexible within their design process to deliver on quick turn requests.

Roles and responsibilities will include:

-Creation of high-quality, realistic hardware, environments and textured 3D assets that are production ready and optimized to maximize performance

-Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of developers and UX specialists to implement art assets efficiently and allow for rapid iteration of application design and aesthetics.

-Import 3D assets into game engine

-Set up and optimize lighting and reflections in game engine

-Optimize project in gaming engine to meet the performance requirements of mobile and desktop AR/VR hardware

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as Technical Artist, Pipeline Developer or related position

-Demonstrated knowledge of computer graphics fundamentals (modeling, texturing/shading/surfacing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing)

-Experience with either Modo, Maya, 3ds Max

-Experience integrating assets into 3D gaming environments such as Unity or Unreal

-Experience with performance optimization for mobile and standalone AR/VR hardware limitations

-Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g. C#, Python)

-Excellent knowledge of the 3D production pipeline

-Strong initiative and ability to work independently

-Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Desired Skills:

-Experience creating new effects using both HLSL/CG shaders and shader graphs

-Experience creating visual effects on the GPU using VFX graph and compute shaders

-Experience creating and optimizing full screen effect shaders

-Experience with scene and object lighting including global illumination and lightmapping

-Experience creating complex layered particle effects

-Familiar with CAD data and conversion to create optimized polygon meshes

-Experience with multi-player applications

-Excellent eye for lighting, color and detail

-Strong digital art skills and portfolio
