You will work both independently and aspart of a team. Join us! As a manufacturing engineer, you willresearch, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cuttingedge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advancedmission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft toorbital and space exploration systems. You'll consult with programmanagement, design engineers, quality, and production teams in order todevelop the most efficient and cost effective means of producing our productsat the highest level of quality possible. Your technical duties involvereviewing engineering designs for producibility and the development of toolingand fixtures, work instructions, production process and procedures. Youwill be involved in the application of manufacturing technologies and industrybest practices during the design and development of new products and processesthroughout the product lifecycle.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Must-haves:Bachelors of Sciencedegree in related discipline and typically 6 or more yearsof relevant experienceExperience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsExperience in board level electrical assemblies and testingPracticalknowledge of engineering principles and practicesCapabilityworking in multi-disciplinary teamsPreferred:Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning andTolerancing (GDandT) per ASME Y14.5Familiarity with NASA and IPC standards for the construction of circuit cardassembliesBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryBackground in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience inelectronicsKnowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but notlimited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardwareselection, manufacturing and production processesExperience with work instruction/traveler developmentParticipation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a MaterialReview Board (MRB)Experience with new product introduction and transition to productionExposureto Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing ExecutionSystem (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systemsThe ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S.citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual asdefined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the requiredauthorizations from the U.S. Department of State.At Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technologyand best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
