Principal Mechanical Engineer (Spacecraft Design)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNCpolicies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirementsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematicsBroad knowledge of Systems Engineering, Spacecraft & Aero, and otherengineering disciplines a mustExperience with SolidWorks and Creo programs as well as structural analysistools and add-ons requiredAbility to lead an engineering team, take the initiative and work on avariety of simultaneous projects and programs in a fast paced environment isrequired, as well as working an individual contributor occasionally.Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validationplans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of designand development activitiesWork with other Engineers to implement operating procedures, resolve systemissues and provide technical informationPrepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviewsEnsure conformance of products with Engineering design and performancespecificationsExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost, and schedule requirementsConduct research that test and analyze the feasibility, design, operationand performance of equipment, components and systemsEstimate costs and submit bids for EngineeringADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team trainingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ability to travel occasionally requiredMinimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
