Excellent technicalmanagement, team leadership, and communication skills are critical.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders is amPrincipal Systems Engineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer)SUMMARY:The Principal Systems Engineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer) reports tothe Program Manager on the program he/she is supporting and works in concertwith the lead functional engineers and IPT leads and chief engineer inexecution of the program. The Principal Systems Engineer (Launch SegmentLead Engineer) is the technical lead of the Launch Segment IPT team and isthe Program Manager's technical liaison. Additionally the Principal SystemsEngineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer) is responsible for the CostAccounting Management of the Launch Segment IPT. The Principal SystemsEngineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer) is responsible for decompositionof requirements, generation and allocation of specifications, controldocuments, plans and reports in support of the development of the groundsegment. Additionally the Principal Systems Engineer (Launch Segment LeadEngineer) is responsible for the full lifecycle: design, development,integration & test, and operations of the Launch Segment. This includeinternal and external ICDs and launch operations. Additional responsibilitiesinclude oversight of the Launch Segment IPT and subcontractor management. ThePrincipal Systems Engineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer) supportsprograms from the early phases of program capture through design,integration and test, as well as launch activities. The Principal SystemsEngineer (Launch Segment Lead Engineer) should have intimate knowledge ofthe product technology and a good working knowledge of the associatedengineeriPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Working closely with the Program Chief Engineer lead the design,development, integration and test, and operations of the program LaunchElementLead the Launch Segment IPT in the generation and decomposition ofrequirements, allocation of specifications, interface control documents(internal and external) , plans and reports in support of thedevelopment activitiesWork directly with the Program Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure thesuccessful technical, schedule, and cost execution of the Launch SegmentIPT cost account.Support the engineering team on refining the system architecture during allphases of the system lifecycle.Work closely with the chief engineer and manufacturing in developing theEngineering Program Plan (EPP)Work closely with Launch Providers, subcontractors, customer programoffice and other stakeholders associated with the Launch SegmentLead the program efforts to interpret customer objectives, and generaterequirements, and decompose them into hardware and system requirements andspecificationsOriginate specifications, interface control documents (internal andexternal), verification and validation plans, procedures, reports,or other documentation in support of design and development activitiesLead Integrated Product Team(s) activities, documents meetings andtracks action itemsSupport the chief engineer in tracking the EPPPrepare material for, and conduct periodic design reviewsExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost and schedule requirementsEnsure that all specifications, designs and developments adhere to SNCstandards and customer requirementsProvide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselinesfor systems and sub-systems
