We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a Bachelor's degree inSystems Engineering or a related Engineering field and at least 14 years ofrelevant experience. These cover a very wide range: fromstate of the art mission payloads and electronic systems through highlyintegrated aircrafts, to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll beresponsible for developing complex system architectures within contextualmodeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept throughpreliminary and detailed design, simulation and test using industry leadingtools. As a cross functional engineer, you are responsible for system levelownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.The Principal Systems Engineer (Spacecraft Lead Engineer) reports to theProgram Manager on the program he/she is supporting and works in concertwith the lead subsystem engineers and IPT leads in execution of the program.The Principal Systems Engineer (Spacecraft Lead Engineer) is the technicallead of the Systems Engineering and Mission Analysis team and is the ProgramManager's technical liaison. Additionally the Principal Systems Engineer(Spacecraft Lead Engineer) is responsible for the Cost AccountingManagement of the System Engineering and Mission Analysis IPT. The PrincipalSystems Engineer (Spacecraft Lead Engineer) is responsible fordecomposition of requirements, generation and allocation ofspecifications, control documents, plans and reports in support of thedevelopment. Additionally the Principal Systems Engineer (Spacecraft LeadEngineer) is responsible for the program analysis function, includingshowing predicted mission performance against proposed requirements. TheSystems Engineer supports programs from the early phases of program capturethrough integration and test, as well as launch and operations. ThePrincipal Systems Engineer (Spacecraft Lead Engineer) should have intimateknowledge of the product technology and a good working knowledge of theassociaPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Lead the Systems Engineering and Mission Analysis Team in the generation anddecomposition of requirements, allocation of specifications, controldocuments, plans and reports in support of the development activitiesWork directly with the Program Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure thesuccessful technical, schedule, and cost execution of the SystemsEngineering and Mission Analysis cost accountSupport the engineering team on refining the system architecture during allphases of the system lifecycleWork closely with the chief engineer and manufacturing in developing theEngineering Program Plan (EPP)Lead the program efforts to interpret customer objectives, and generaterequirements, and decompose them into hardware and system requirements andspecificationsOriginate specifications, control documents, verification and validationplans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of designand development activitiesLead analysis efforts showing anticipated and measured performance againstmission level performanceLead Integrated Product Team(s) activities, documents meetings andtracks act
