Project Engineer - Job DescriptionCoastal Drilling East, LLCPosition:Project Engineer Department:EngineeringStatus:Full Time (Exempt - Administrative)/At-WillLocation:Will vary, depending on job location. Initial assignment will be the RockyFlats project in Louisville, CO.Direct Report:Engineering ManagerPurpose:Support construction activities by providing support for a portion of thefollowing: planning, organizing and implementing those managementduties, project controls systems, engineering interface, subcontract andmaterials management, purchasing, scheduling. Responsible for portions ofproject administration.Responsibilities:Reads and studies all project related documents (bid, design prints,submittals, etc) to gain a thorough understanding of the project scopeMaintains project files for quick access and for future referenceEnsure that project documentation is being prepared accurately, thatconsumable materials and work allocations are cost coded correctly andproduction quantities are being tracked and reported. Sufficient detail shallbe included in the report to accurately document the work that was completedMaintains tracking spreadsheets for production quantities, materials,ROP, and other measurable metrics are documented for the projectAssists the Project Manager with performing takeoffs and obtaining quotes forrequired subs, materials, etc. that are required throughout the projectAttends the daily planning meetings and prepares meeting notes to document andcommunicate to Project Manager and ClientAttends the weekly Onsite Progress meeting with the client andtakes/distributes meeting minutes in accordance with the Project Manager'sinstructionsAssist the Project team with documenting safety meetings, JSAs, etcAssist in the preparation and review of resource scheduling within the threeweek look ahead scheduleAssists the Project Manager with documenting and tracking of Extra Workcosts, assuring out of scope work is being captured as a Change Order andthat Extra work is not being performed without proper authorizationPhysical Requirements:The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personalprotective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it isrequired. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest,respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipmentas required by the work performed and location the work is being doneSitting for long periods of time, sometimes up to 4-6 hoursExposure to computer screens and cellular telephone screensWalking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on thejob site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and outof equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including10' or more in heightVisually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or withcorrective lenses)Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for longperiods of timeRepetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and backin performance of workWorking at elevated heightsLifting 25 lb. objects occasionallyCarrying 25 lb. objects occasionallyAdapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverseweather conditionsRemaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by thecircumstance of the incidentExposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditionsAbility to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekendassignments and holidays as required Education:Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Civil, MechanicalEngineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a relatedfield of studyExperience:Minimum of 1-5 years' experience in heavy/civil project or field engineeringSkills and Abilities:Must possess excellent communication and problem solving skills, stronganalytical skillsShould possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Productsincluding: Excel and Word, Microsoft Project and OutlookMust be highl
