We are seeking Sr Engineering Program Manager for the MiCD Systems Engineering Sustaining Engineering team. This role will provide leadership and direction for the management, identification, implementation, and prioritization of contract manufacturing sustaining engineering projects. Our projects improve quality, service, cost and ensure lifecycle management (End of Life) for products in the MiCD contract manufacturing organization.

Day in the life:
This position will report directly to the Director of Systems Engineering for Contract Manufacturing.
You will establish and maintain strong cross functional collaboration with Sustaining, RD, Contract Manufacturers, Supply Chain, Sourcing, OpEx and corporate initiatives and leadership. Ensuring projects are on time, on budget and support the sustaining needed to maintain our advanced product portfolio.
Lead the proactive Lifecycle Management (EOL, LTBs, etc) for MiCD contract manufactured products, ensuring that our patients can still obtain the life saving devices we provide in accordance with sales plans.
Lead, coordinate and prioritize multi-functional sustaining initiatives with many stakeholders within the MiCD manufacturing network and the multiple OUs we operate in.
Secure budget and monitor project deliverables, ensuring on time and on budget execution for sustaining CM projects
Mitigate delivery, quality and cost issues, ensuring appropriate escalation and project initiation and execution.
Interface with business and operations leadership to evaluate projects and secure resources
Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers, internal partners and vendors to ensure timely delivery and project execution.
Coordinates and prioritizes supplier change requests
Product sustaining engineering responsibility and ownership of multiple released products in the MiCD CM network
Manages feasibility studies of change requests to determine if technically and financially viable.

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 7+ years of experience
An Advanced Degree and 5+ years of experience
Nice to Have
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
Masters degree in Biomedical or Mechanical engineering
Proficient in structured problem solving techniques Kepner-Tregoe, DMAIC A3, Triz, 8D, etc
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a medical device manufacturing operations environment with hardware systems, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
6 sigma / Lean Black Belt training or certification
Experienced leader in the Medtronic Operating System (MOS/COS)
5+ years leading large multi-disciplined engineering teams directly in a manufacturing environment
10+ years executing project management in med device industry
Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources
Excellent communicator and ability to articulate project plans, proposals, proformas and perform negotiations at the senior management level
Advanced skills in MS tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Project), Agile PLM
Experience leading component engineering component qualifications
Prior experience with obsolesce management
Capability to translate customer/business needs into project priorities
Excellent project management and milestone management capabilities
5+ years working with medical device hardware systems and devices
Demonstrated experience resolving line downs, driving cost savings and improving quality
Project transfer experience between internal and external sites
Experienced building high performing teams that execute their deliverables
Ability and desire to mentor, coach and train other engineer team members associates
