Join ourteam! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertiseto research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improvecutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex systemarchitectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them fromoperational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation,and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you arein charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through thepSNC is seeking a candidate with a strong background in spacecraft thermalanalysis and thermal control systems implementation to lead the ThermalControl System design and execution on the CLPS Task Order 19D mission. As theThermal Lead, you will manage an internal/external team of engineers forall thermal efforts from kickoff through delivery. You will engage withcustomers, partners and the cross-functional technical team to ensurepayload and vehicle thermal requirements are met by making data-drivendecisions in architecting, planning, building and testing the design in atestbed prototype and subsequent delivery of the end product.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.Must-haves:Bachelors of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline andtypically 10 or more years of relevant experienceDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesDemonstrated knowledge of the principles of thermal design from analysisthrough system implementation and testExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsThorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirementsparsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systemsintegration, technical risk identification and management strategies, andVerification and Validation (VandV) principlesPreferred:Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools,such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLABKnowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include,but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering(MBSExperience using thermal analysis tools and reviewing analysis resultsExperience designing and developing thermal control systems over complete endproduct life cycleExperience or certification in INCOSE standardsBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryExperience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex developmentsetting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measuresThorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical PerformanceMeasurements (TPM)The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicantmust be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtainthe required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S.DepartmenAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technologyand best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
