Sierra Nevada Corporation Sr. Systems Engineer - Thermal Analysis in Louisville, Colorado

SNC is currently seeking exceptional candidates who wish to be a part of thecommercial space revolution. Our fun, fast-paced and collaborative teamdesigns, builds, and flies the Dream Chaser Cargo System, an ambitiousflagship program to create our Nation's only commercially reusable spaceplane. With your help, we will conduct many safe and successful missionsover the next decade to deliver critical cargo to and from the InternationalSpace Station. These flights for NASA will enable us to build an unprecedentedcommercial space transportation network around the Dream Chaser, whichprovides affordable, cutting-edge orbital capability and return to Earthservices onto runways around the globe. The future of space transportation isnIn your role as a Thermal Analyst, you will be responsible for determiningthe thermal performance of the Dream Chaser. This includes tasks such asdeveloping thermal analysis models which are required for the design,development, production, assembly, test, and certification efforts todeliver the completed Dream Chaser Space System.At SNC's Space Systems Group (SSG) we are not only the creator of theDream Chaser spacecraft, but also the designer and manufacturer of rocketengines and components, systems that sustain life in deep space, as wellas systems and satellites that improve life here on Earth. The work of ourSpace Systems team not only supports the U.S. government (includingNASA), but also commercial customers and international organizations.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Assist in the development of vehicle and component level thermal models of theDCCSConduct and document thermal system analysis required to meet programmilestonesCoordinate model results with other systems to implement thermal controlsolutionsPrepare and give technical presentations to management and customersDevelop predictions for thermal system validation and verification events.Perform thermal model correlation to test and flight dataAuthoring technical and engineering memos as requiredCreate test procedures and identify necessary test equipmentPrepare material for, and conduct periodic design reviewsExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost and schedule requirementsProvide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselinesfor systems and sub-systemsSupport flight tests and mission operationsSupport business development in defining systems architectures for businessopportunities during the program capture phaseSupport the engineering team on refining the system architecture during theproposal effortAssist the program efforts to interpret customer requirements and decomposethem into hardware and system requirements and specificationsOriginate specifications, control documents, verification and validationplans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of designand development activitiesFollow SNC policies, procedures and work instructions for all technicalactivitiesPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursMust-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline andtypically 10 or more years of relevant experienceDemonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practicesExperience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsAbility to use Thermal Desktop and SIDNA to conduct analysesThorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirementsparsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systemsintegration, technical risk identification and management strategies, andVerification and Validation (VandV) principlesStrong interpersonal skills, as position will require interfacing with manyengineers from a variety of disciplines Act as a technical liaison to theProgram ManagerPreferred:Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools,such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLABKnowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to
