The inspectiondevelopment and deployment processes involve assessing the customer'schallenges, defining requirements, architectural concept development,project planning, cost estimating, feasibility and proof of conceptactivities, full system development, deployment, and validation testingactivities all to meet customer needs. The capabilities team also executesapplied research and development projects to grow capabilities and reputationwithin materials, manufacturing, computational, and nondestructiveinspection disciplines. EWI is seeking various candidates to facilitate teamgrowth and will create appropriate engineering titles and roles commensuratewith experience and areas of expertise. Highest preference will be giventoward highly skilled and experienced engineers with nondestructive inspectiondevelopment/deployment backgrounds or a proven record in research executionandESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Conduct applied research in the areas of NDE, materials, manufacturing,computational and nondestructive inspection disciplinesAssess customer's manufacturing, quality, and inspection challenges todrive requirements for the proposal and planning processConduct planning and cost estimating for projectsDevelop concepts and architectural frameworks for inspection methods andsystemsPerform feasibility and proof of concept activitiesExecute the full-system life-cycle to meet customer expectationsAssist other engineers with support such as research, lab work, or other tasksWrite clear, concise, and accurate technical proposals, reports,and/or documents for customers and/or internal audienceEffectively deliver oral presentations meant to inform or persuade bothinternal (peer and manager) and external (client) audiencesOffer input into strategies to grow the businessFollow-up and interact with customers on reactive sales transactions;initiate the reactive sales process without guidanceInteract with customer via "inquiry" process to explore sales opportunitiesCORE KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Nondestructive inspection development expertise using Electromagnetics,Ultrasound, Phased Array Ultrasound, or Laser UltrasoundCustom process development and deployment for manufacturing, test, orinspection applicationsUnderstanding of business challenges in manufacturing and industrializationDemonstrated technical writing capability with strong ability to developtechnical work scopes for incorporation with proposalsExercises initiative and creativity within assigned project workUtilizes judgment in communication styles and behaviors; recognizes impacton other team membersExhibits proficient written and verbal communication with customers bothinternal and externalProven adaptability and flexibility as a part of teamAbility to maintain excellent customer relationships both internal andexternalProven success in a team-oriented environmentStrong ability to plan and organize tasksWillingness to travel periodically (10-15%) to customers and conferencesProficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)ANCILLARY KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABI
