Description of Duties:
The Infrastructure Systems Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
The candidate will:
Possess the ability to work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers as well as Facilities, Operations, & Maintenance (FOM) teams
Apply systems engineering best practices to requirements definition, design, implementation, and verification & validation (V&V) of MDIOC infrastructure and facility projects
Work closely with Facilities Engineering & Operations (FEO) as well as Facilities, Operations, & Maintenance (FOM) teams
Address and adjudicate MDA mission system impacts with multiple customers during the implementation phase of infrastructure projects
Introduce and apply engineering rigor and discipline during collaboration, integration, coordination, design and planning with facility and mission partners
Develop and maintain documentation such as updated processes, requirements traceability matrices, SE checklists, Executive Briefs, etc.
Perform systems engineering impact assessments
Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and MDIOC safety procedures
The effective candidate will:
Be able to clearly present and articulate solutions to government customers and stakeholders (individually, as a high-level brief, and/or to a large group)
Be able to gain a thorough understanding of the Work Screening Team (WST) processes.
This includes working knowledge of obtaining WST numbers at the Utility Outage Board as well as obtaining seal break tickets to conduct research or provide the access
Be able to gain familiarity with facility systems (learner)
Be able to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment
Be detail-oriented and able to prioritize and implement tasks in a high-pressure, high-visibility environment
Have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to closely interact and engage with a wide variety of customers
Be able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have good communication skills, and work well in a team environment.
Understand or possess a broad knowledge of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook and/or general systems engineering guidelines
Understand or possess a broad knowledge of the IRES Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
Understand or possess a broad knowledge of MDIOC Unified Facilities Guide Specification (MUFGS) to include standards for infrastructure activities, configuration management, architectural structures, electrical systems, mechanical systems, fire suppression systems, information technology systems, and security systems
Understand and interpret engineering schematics, designs and infrastructure drawings
On-site Support on weekends and/or after-hours as required by specific projects (approximately 5-10% of the time; Compensatory Time and Flex Time available)
This position is located at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is expected to pay $80,400 - $112,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 10 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 8 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 4 years of general experience
Must have 6 years of directly related experience
Must have a clear working knowledge and understanding of government facility operations and systems
Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in an mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering field, and 5+ years of systems engineering or related experience
Experience working on a military installation
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and SharePoint
Experience in partnering with integrated project teams (IPTs) to execute Facility Implementation and Safety Plans (FISPs)
