Hensel Phelps Superintendent - Plains District in Thornton, Colorado

The Superintendent serves in a role either supporting management efforts on larger projects focusing on a geographical area or discrete scopes of work, or assigned to oversee the entire project, depending on aptitude and experience level. We are seeking individuals with a love of the building process and can manage the unique environment of today's construction industry. Working with all personality types, the superintendent is expected to manage risk, mindfully coordinate and schedule activities with safety in the forefront, affirm quality of the highest priority, and represent Hensel Phelps on and off the field with integrity.

Essential job functions include:

  • Subcontractor coordination

  • Craft supervision and training

  • Project safety compliance

  • Scheduling

  • Job planning

  • Material handling

  • Personnel development

  • Daily reports

  • Quality control

  • Personnel evaluation and development

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera, Asta Scheduling Software, and the AutoDesk Suite

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on large commercial construction projects

  • A 4 year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management

The position may require the new hire to be assigned to a project with specific badging or other security requirements, which may require the Company, Owner, or third party to conduct a criminal or other background check.
