Engineering services may include processdevelopment, design for manufacturing, project management, processvalidation, tool design, and troubleshooting.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeveloping, leading, and executing project plans and schedules for workactivitiesCommunicating (written and verbal) direction and project plans withappropriate personnel from other departmentsEvaluating multiple options to select the most appropriate processes andmachining methodsCreating, maintaining, and improving controlled technical documents suchas prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers through design andengineering control systems.Developing and supporting a wide variety of processing applications such asmachining, finishing, forging, casting, cleaning, coating, heattreating, bonding, molding, etcConducting feasibility study on advanced processes to estimate product costand analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirementsEstablishing and improving process methods which meet performance and qualityrequirementsLeading equipment qualification or process validation project(s)Solving a variety of complex product and/or process performance issueDeveloping rationale to set new process performance and quality standardsExpected Areas of CompetenceSound understanding of concepts and principles for manufacturing and newproduct processing and a basic knowledge of these elements in areas such asQuality, Development, or Sourcing.Working knowledge of component models in SolidworksFull working knowledge of all supporting department needs and capabilities,including the ability to discern when inaccurate information is supplied andoffer ideas for how to correct it.Extensive knowledge of mechanisms required to implement processes and manageproduct flowFull working knowledge of the development process and procedures.Competence with drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancingAbility to balance marketing, manufacturing, and design requirements tomeet customer requirementsAbility to lead and prioritize complex projects assignments and complete workin a timely mannerGood problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical toolsAbility to effectively work and communicate within a cross-functional team tocomplete critical project tasks.Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.Microsoft Office Suite and Project.Minitab knowledge is preferredEducation/Experience RequirementsA minimum of a B.S. in Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years ofindustry manufacturing engineering experience is required; or othertechnical or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of industrymanufacturing engineering experience is required.Industry experience in a regulated environment is preferred (i.e., medicaldevice, biomedical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, etc.).Knowledge of Lean Principles and/or Six Sigma or other problem solvingmethodology is preferred.Knowledge of how to conduct investigations and root cause analysis ispreferred.Travel RequirementsUp to 10%Additional InformationEOE/M/W/Vet/DisabilityAt Zimmer Biomet, we believe in The Power of Us, which means that we arestronger together.
