Projects are very technical, and include labs,cleanrooms, office buildings, process systems, and data centers.MTech's reputation is built on providing reliable technical expertise andmaintaining long-term client relationships.We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer, with careeraspirations and both technical and demonstrated leadership skills for growthpotential within the Engineering Department. The engineering position focuseson the creation of mechanical construction documents and works as a supportfunction to other departments within MTech, and the candidate will be atechnical leader within MTech.Essential Job FunctionPrepare construction documents for mechanical in-house design/buildprojects; including Conceptual Design; SD; DD and CD Phases of aproject, in collaboration with MTech's PreConstruction and CAD OperationsteamAssist the PreConstruction team with project pursuits, in the form ofconceptual designs, one-lines, preliminary system selections andhigh-level energy analysis, code reviews, and support and attendance atproject interviews.Perform final check of all work issued to ensure high quality, seal and signdocuments as required.Take a lead role in the coordination with other trades on the project team;architects, general contractors, and other design disciplines; andability to work collaboratively and present solutionsEvaluate design parameters and system solutions for projects that respond toboth the technical and budget requirements of the project.Prepare heating, ventilating and cooling load calculations; mechanicalsystem sizing and equipment selections, and develop a working knowledge ofcodes and reference standards.Involvement in all facets of a project, from conceptual design, designengineering, LEED analysis and documentation, construction observation,trouble-shooting, commissioning support, to project close-out.Establish and manage engineering design budgets with Project Managers andPreConstruction teams in house.Conduct building surveys to ascertain the installed condition as required forthe design and construction of new work in existing buildings.Works with other departments to provide technical expertise in a support role.Acts as a technical leader for other engineers and designers within thedepartment.Attend meetings and participate in activities of local professionalorganizations such as ASHRAE and ASPERegular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet therequirements of this positionOther duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering required froman accredited college or university.Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license required.Minimum of 7-10 years of engineering experience required with skills inmechanical design / build projects.Working knowledge of AutoCAD and RevitStrong proficiency in Windows operating environment, including email andMicrosoft Office software.Strong interpersonal and decision making skills.Ability to effectively communicate with people at different levels within theorganization.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment or independently,flexibility to adapt to changing needs/situations.Americans with Disability SpecificationsPhysical DemandThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.
