See Terracon's Safety Response to Covid-19 belowJob DescriptionTerracon's Denver office is seeking a Field EnvironmentalEngineer to join our Team! Our Denver office has a diverse client base inboth public and private sectors working in the commercial, industrial,government and institutional markets. As a Field Engineer, your fieldworkefforts will include: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments; Phase IIEnvironmental Site Assessments (ESAs); underground storage tank(UST) removals; soil excavation oversight; remedial and vapormitigation systems installations; chemical amendment injections;operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OMandM) of remedial and vapormitigation systems, aquifer testing, and sampling of various media. Youroffice work will include: reviewing, analyzing and reducing data collectedduring fieldwork; groundwater modeling; assisting in remedial and vapormitigation system design; developing computer-aided design (CAD)drawings and associated report preparation, all under the direction of aProfessional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Professional Geologist (P.G.).General Responsibilities:Conduct Phase I ESAs in accordance with ASTM 1527-13;Conduct Phase II ESA's under ASTM 1903-11;Assists in preparing the scope of work for both routine and more complex siteinvestigations to measure and sample physical and non-physical properties ofsoil from a hydrogeological, geological, or environmental standpoint;Advance soil borings, install monitoring wells, classify soils, andperform subcontractor oversight;Under general supervision conducts and documents soil, groundwater, andair sampling and remediation and vapor mitigation systems OMandM;Implements technical requirements to complete client projects involvingsampling, testing, and collecting data and/or documenting on-site activities;Assist senior staff in developing conceptual site models based oncollaborative review of data generated during a Phase II ESA;Subcontractor oversight of the installation and construction of remedial andvapor mitigation systems;Conduct site visits, field observations and field data collection and/orfield assignments;Office duties include data reduction and evaluation, technical analysis,remedial and vapor mitigation design, groundwater modeling, and reportpreparation;Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts andcorrelates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and followsoperations through a series of related detailed steps or processes; and,May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering orrelated degree.Minimum 0-2 years of demonstrated experience in environmental project work.Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and have an acceptabledriving record.High level of verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational and technical writing skills.Commitment to Terracon's safety program and culturePreferencesEngineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI).Computer-aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and Geographic InformationSystem (GIS) experience.Groundwater modeling experience (e.g., MODFLOW and/or AQTESOLV).Completed OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.Knowledge of CDPHE, CDLE-OPS, CERCLA, RCRA, or other applicable stateor federal regulations.Terracon offers an excellent compensation and benefitspackage including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance,401(k) plan, and paid holidays.The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with theColorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
